Mind, Magic, Mental Health and More
Welcome to my new website!
In 2023 and 2024 I am hosting a series of talks that will cover the magic/perception material that you all know and love as well as draw from the performance, research, and practice that I have been doing in the past few years. These will involve discussions and demonstrations, and a lot of diving into the world of what is possible when magic becomes real.
Next talk: Magic, Mind, Medicine, Mental Health
An open discussion on the overlap between what performers and practitioners of all stripes do. Based on the discussions and emails from the past few years, I know there is a lot of diverse talent and experience in this mailing list, and I would love to have this open discussion. I will also bring my now 20 years (eep) of professional and personal experience and research in these overlapping areas.
Thursday September 26, 5PM GMT (check your time zone)
Most of the session will be led by interest/request so we'll have space for questions and discussion.

Brief Targeted Interventions (Tentatively Oct 3, 2024) : My early study into the psychology of ritual essentially forked in 2 ways: The magical application you all know, and the psychiatric/medical side that I haven't talked about as much to the original Reality as an Art crowd. This will be a time where we can talk about the very interesting thread of short interventions that seem to get miraculous results and yet are rarely used in modern medicine, and how they relate to the topics that have brought us together. There will be lots of questions and a few possible answers, and some space for open discussion.
The Ritual of Hypnosis (Tentatively Oct 17): Hypnosis is something that has some of the best scientific backing and the worst PR, and is a frustrating and fascinating case study. We'll discuss the art, science, and politics of hypnosis, and a potential better way to present the best and most up-to-date science-based argument for it in the modern day. As well, how we can get the same results without having to use the H word.
